Keeping in view the paramount importance of safety, security, and well-being of the pilgrims, the following guidelines are hereby issued. These guidelines shall be binding on all pilgrims (Yatries) undertaking the Yatra and shall be complied with in letter and spirit. Any violation shall attract cancellation of Yatra permission and may entail appropriate action under law.

DO’s

1. Pilgrims shall monitor and adhere to official announcements issued by the Shrine Board through its website, designated helpline numbers, and verified social media handles, including X-account @OfficialSMVDSB.          
2. The pilgrimage shall be planned strictly in accordance with advisories and updates released by the Shrine Board and District Administration with respect to weather, track conditions, or security concerns.           
3. In the event of adverse weather forecasts, including heavy rainfall, cloudburst, or landslide alerts issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) or District Administration, pilgrims shall reschedule or postpone travel.          
4. Pilgrims shall travel light and avoid carrying bulky or oversized baggage during the uphill trek.          
5. Pilgrims shall wear footwear with adequate grip and carry weather-protective clothing such as raincoats or ponchos.          
6. Pilgrims shall carry only essential items, namely: drinking water, light snacks, prescribed medicines, valid identity proof, and Yatra slip.          
7. Every pilgrim shall mandatorily register at designated counters for issuance of RFID Cards.          
8. Elderly persons, children, and those with existing medical conditions shall consult a registered medical practitioner prior to commencing the Yatra.          
9. Pilgrims shall strictly use only the designated routes and tracks. Shortcuts, unmarked trails, or deviation from the prescribed path is prohibited.          
10. In case of emergencies or unusual activity, pilgrims shall promptly inform the nearest Shrine Board official, medical staff, or security personnel.          
11. Pilgrims shall extend full cooperation to Shrine Board personnel, police, and rescue teams, particularly in the event of temporary halts, route diversions, or emergency measures.          
12. Announcements made over the public address system shall be attentively followed.          
13. Pilgrims shall remain hydrated and take rest at designated shelters to avoid exhaustion, especially during steep ascents.

DON’Ts 

1. No pilgrim shall proceed on the Yatra during adverse weather conditions.       
2. No heavy, oversized, or unauthorized luggage shall be carried during the trek.       
3. Pilgrims shall not halt, rest, or congregate near landslide-prone areas, drains, or disturbed slopes.       
4. Do not ignore signage or safety instructions issued by authorities at any point along the track.      
5. Do not rely on unverified information or social media forwards. Refer only to official communication channels for accurate updates.      
6. Do not trek alone, especially during low visibility or night hours.      
7. Do not crowd around rest shelters or safety barriers, and do not obstruct emergency access routes.      
8. Do not carry prohibited or hazardous items, including flammable substances or sharp objects.
